German scholar Gustav Ecke designed a gallery room with a ceiling for the Chinese Exhibition Hall (now Chinese Temple Gallery, or Gallery 230) at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art which was under the directorship of Laurence Sickman (1906–1988, Director of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art). The gallery was said to be inspired by the Zhihua Temple Wanfo Hall (Wanfoge) interior.
